Jamat-e-Shaikhul Hind:

Jamat-e-Shaikhul Hind is a historic Islamic organization that was established by Maulana Mahmoodul Hasan, widely known as Shaikhul Hind, in the early 20th century in British-occupied India. This movement emerged at a crucial time when the British colonial regime had a firm grip on India and the Muslim community was facing both external threats and internal fragmentation. The organization was born out of the intellectual and spiritual concerns of Dr. Israr, who was deeply troubled by the decline in Islamic values, the fragmentation of the Muslim community, and the growing influence of secularism and materialism in the Muslim world. The primary aim of Tanzeem-e-Islami is to revive the Islamic system of governance, promote social justice, and encourage Islamic activism in modern times.

Dr. Israr Ahmad, who was a student of Maulana Maududi and greatly influenced by Jamaat-e-Islami, envisioned Tanzeem-e-Islami as a platform to unite Muslims under the banner of Islamic thought, emphasizing that Islam is not just a set of religious rituals but a comprehensive way of life that covers political, social, economic, and cultural spheres. According to Dr. Israr, the solution to the current crises facing the Muslim world lay in the revival of Islam in its entirety — an Islam that was not only about personal piety but also about the establishment of justice and Islamic governance.
